This Dog Was Moments From Being Euthanized, Then Her Puppies Saved The Day !!!


Having dogs put to sleep at shelters is not something anyone wants to do. It’s even worse when the dogs comes in with puppies of her own. But it can be difficult to maintain a shelter when the numbers start becoming more than anyone can handle. One such dog was brought in with her two six-month old puppies and were placed on the euthanasia list. No one knew what else they could do.



Until a stroke of luck had the dog removed from the list when she served as a surrogate mother for six other puppies that had been recently rescued. The shelter found an email about a man who was threatening to drown nine pit bull puppies that he had if someone didn’t come to take them. They had to act fast, and when they responded, he brought them all in.



With no mother to take care of, the shelter decided that the dog could take care of them. Since she already had puppies of her own, she was still nursing, and it would solve many problems of having to hand raise a litter of puppies by the staff members.



Four of the puppies ended up going to another rescue shelter. The other five were slowly introduced to the mama dog, starting with the runt. They were wary that she might not take to them, but she licked each one in turn and they took to nursing from her like it was the most natural thing in the world.



It seemed her recent family has been extended by five more, and she hasn’t made any complaints since the introduction. Luckily, her tender loving care kept her off of the euthanasia list and these small pups have a chance at a new life.

This is just magic, isn’t it? I still can’t believe it…

For eleven-year-old Hannah, a pit bull terrier-Labrador mix, life was getting harder to live. Suffering from seizures and riddled with arthritis in her hips, loyal, loving Hannah was also enduring side-effects from the medications she was on to control her seizures.
